Wayne Township Rust Grip Captain Kilroy Park |
Situation:
These lake dock I-Beams in Wayne Township’s Captain Kilroy Park were a time consuming, tedious and costly project. Each year the after draining the lake, the I-Beams were needle scaled to remove the surface paint and rust build up.
Solution:
Rather than needle scale the I-Beams, the Township decided to use Rust Grip and Enamo Grip Top Coat. They power-washed the I-Beams removing the loose scale, applied acetone to remove any surface moisture, applied one coat of Rust Grip encapsulation coating and a top coat of white Enamo Grip, waterproofing the substrate.
Results:
The lake dock I-Beams will remain clean, without water penetration or rusting for between 15-20 years.
